First November, Then I Write

Are you ready for November? It’s NaNoWriMo. Writers everywhere are devoting the month to spilling whole novels onto the page. I have something different in mind. A few somethings, actually.

Are you ready? Today, Nov 4, I’m attending an emergency preparedness workshop. 730 North Road, Gibsons. 2pm to 5pm. Newly elected to our strata council, I will bring my learnings home to share with my whole neighbourhood.

At today’s event, I’ll also be selling raffle tickets to support the Coast Car Co-op. The raffle draw is Nov 5 (tomorrow) at 6:30pm.

Nov 10, I will attend the SEWN 2018 Fall Business Fair in Sechelt to support local women in business.

Nov 16, I’m speaking at the LIFT event at the Gibsons library on Writing Your Life: The Art of Making Connections.

Nov 17, all the Area 73 Sunshine Coast Toastmasters clubs come together for a fun day of speeches and learning. Public welcome. Join us!

Nov 22, I’m helping with the Coast Car Co-op Burger ‘n’ Beer fundraiser. Live music, silent auction, 50/50 draw, yummy food, and fun with friends while supporting an awesome local transportation option.

Starting Nov 23, my daughter will be in a Treasure Island pantomime. So exciting!

My son hopes to release his second novel on Nov 24, as long as the books are delivered here on time. Fingers crossed!

Nov 26 marks the debut of my husband’s second novel, 17 Weddings. Love this book!

Nov 28, I’ll speak at the final Coast Creatives open mic night. 7pm to 9pm at the Gibsons Public Art Gallery. An off-the-wall performance!

All this, plus throw in a birthday celebration, a house guest for a week, staying in touch with friends, plus the usual daily, weekly, monthly activities. Thanks goodness for the extra hour (fall back) I discovered when I woke up this morning that allowed me to post this. And how is my memoir doing? First November! And then I write.

  1. Holy crow, you are such a busy gal! Sheila, your old auntie is very proud of you for the involvement you have taken on for causes you care about. And the speaking engagements! Way to go! Love you.
